Ingredients for Paneer Pre-preparation:
- 200g Paneer
- 1/2 tsp Chilly Powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 tsp Garam Masala
- Salt as required
- 1/2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Ghee
Ingredients for Paneer Masala:
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2 Cardamom
- 2 Cloves
- 1 Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 2 Onion [finely chopped]
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 1.5 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Chilly Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1/4 tsp Pepper Powder
- 2 Tomato [as paste]
- 3 tbsp Curd [whisked]
- 1 cup Water
- Salt [for gravy]
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tbsp Kasuri Methi
Step 1 – Paneer Pre-Preparation:
Take 200g of paneer in a bowl and add 1/2 tsp of chilly powder along with 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder. Put 1/4 tsp of garam masala and the required salt as per your preferred taste.
Add 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste and mix it gently. Let it rest for 15 minutes. Heat the pan with medium heat and add 1 tsp of ghee into it. Add the marinated paneer and fry it for 5 minutes.
Step 2 – Making Paneer Masala:
Take a pan and heat it with medium heat. Add 1 tsp of ghee, 2 tbsp of oil, one bay leaf, two cardamoms, and two cloves into it.
Add one cinnamon, 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, and fry till it turns aromatic. Add two finely chopped onions and saute it for 2-3 minutes.
Add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste, and fry it till the raw smell disappears. Put 1.5 tsp of coriander powder, 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, and 1/2 tsp of chilly powder.
Additionally, add 1/2 tsp of cumin powder, 1/4 tsp of pepper powder, and mix it for a minute. Add two tomatoes as paste and cook it until the raw smell disappears.
Pour 3 tbsp of whisked curd into it. Mix it well and cook till oil separates. Pour 1 cup of water and add the required salt needed for gravy. Mix it and let it boil.
Add the fried paneer. Cover it with the lid and simmer it for 10 minutes. Finally, add 1/2 tsp of garam masala and 1 tbsp of kasthuri methi into it. Mix it and turn off the flame. Now, the Paneer Masala is ready!
